Focus

Preteens, Teens, Young Adults (18-30), Adults

In my professional work with children and family, I have found that children and parents love to have a space to be heard and express what is truly going on for them. My goal is to create this space. I believe that children and teens are able to express what is happening for them; it is often in a language that adults can learn to hear and understand. I work using a collaborative and relational approach including all important people in my clients life. When working with children, I often use play therapy and sand tray. Additionally, when supporting parents, I often use Positive Discipline philosophies. I enjoy assisting parents in being their child’s advocate with and at schools, in meetings and more. From a school administrative perspective, I can provide observations at schools (pre-schools) and provide consultation with school personnel on a large variety of issues and concerns.

I studied business and psychology in undergrad at Louisiana State University and went on to receive my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edwards University in Austin to become a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist – Supervisor (LMFT-S). I have worked with children, teens, and families since 2009. My experience includes working in school environments, in-homes, and in agencies counseling individuals, groups, parents, and families. I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parenting Educator.

A Little About Me

In my off-work time, I enjoy digging into all things design (architecture and interior design). I enjoy the outdoors and connecting with friends and family. I also love spending simple time hanging with my husband and my two preschool aged kiddos. They keep life busy and entertaining.
