Geetha Pokala
she/her
LPC Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi, my name is Geetha! How ever you ended up here, I congratulate you on making one of the first steps to starting therapy- you did it! I believe that the process of therapy develops differently for everyone, which is why it is my goal to create an open space for you to be yourself. Therapy is a time for you and I to explore issues that are affecting your day to day in a way that feels most comfortable to you, whether that is through talking, playing, artistic expression, etc. you get to choose!
I really enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults who may be struggling with complicated relationships with friends and/or family, behavioral or academic problems, lack of motivation, distress in social situations, anxiety, and depression. My main approach in the therapy room is to create a space where my clients can truly be themselves, which is why I encourage them to incorporate their own creative interests in session. Ultimately, I wish to offer you a place with no judgment and lots of support and guidance in hopes that you feel seen, heard, and understood.
I look forward to creating a collaborative and nurturing space where we can discover, be curious, and explore together!

A little about me
Some things to know about me: I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook em’ Horns!) in 2017 with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences. The following year I started my journey of becoming a therapist at Johns Hopkins University, graduating with an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The majority of my clinical experiences have been in private practice and school-based settings with emphasis in Play Therapy, Sand Tray, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. I am also a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator!
And when I am not with clients, I enjoy baking, playing outdoors with my husband, reading, and feeding the “pet” deer in the backyard!
