Understanding & Affirming Care for LGBTQIA+ Individuals

Our therapists provide affirming, judgment-free care for individuals across the LGBTQAI+ spectrum, including those exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity, navigating transition, building healthy relationships, or working through anxiety, depression, trauma, or family conflict connected to their identity. We approach every client with cultural humility and a genuine commitment to understanding your experience — not a one-size-fits-all approach to identity.

Whether you’re seeking support for identity-related concerns specifically, or simply want a therapist who understands and respects who you are while working on other life challenges, we’re here to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

FAQs

Have questions about getting started, fees, or finding the right therapist in Austin? We're here to help.

How do I know if LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy is right for me?

If you’re looking for a therapist who understands and respects your identity — whether you’re seeking support specifically related to gender, sexuality, or family dynamics, or simply want a therapist who gets it while you work through other life challenges — affirming care can offer that space.

What happens in the first session?

We’ll take time to understand your unique experience, goals, and what feels important for you to be seen and supported. There’s no need to explain or justify your identity — we start from a place of respect and go from there.

Do you offer LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy for teens?

Yes. We support LGBTQIA+ youth navigating identity, peer relationships, and self-expression, as well as parents and caregivers looking for guidance in supporting their child.

Do you offer this support near Westlake or Northwest Hills?

Yes. We have two Austin office locations, one in Westlake and one in Northwest Hills. We also offer virtual sessions for clients anywhere in Texas.

Do you take insurance?

We don’t accept insurance directly, but we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We’re happy to walk you through how that works before your first session.

Can this type of therapy be done virtually?

Yes. We offer virtual sessions for clients across Texas, so you can get support in whatever setting feels most comfortable.
