Working on the Client Care Team at AFC since 2020, I have had the privilege of supporting adults, children, and parents as they take some of their first steps into therapy. Through this work, I’ve learned a few things: people want help navigating big, overwhelming feelings; every person and family arrives with a unique story; and feeling alone in our struggles often makes everything harder.
At the heart of my work is the belief that our emotions and behaviors make sense. Many of the patterns we carry, such as anxiety, emotional outbursts, perfectionism, or withdrawal, developed as creative ways to cope or stay safe, even if they no longer serve us. In therapy, we approach these patterns with curiosity and compassion, creating space for growth, connection, and change.
I prioritize building a warm, authentic therapeutic relationship where adults, children/adolescents (ages 3–17), and parents feel safe bringing their whole selves. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate anxiety, depression, grief & loss, trauma, and relational concerns. I draw from neuroscience-informed, experiential, and play-based approaches to help clients move beyond words and better understand what their feelings are communicating and how needs can be met more effectively.
I also offer Animal-Assisted Counseling with my trained therapy dogs, Merry and Pippin, who help create a welcoming, regulated space where meaningful work can happen more easily. Therapy isn’t always quick or comfortable, but it can be deeply healing. I would be honored to walk alongside you or your child as you build resilience, confidence, and deeper connection.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Originally from Nebraska, I made my way to Texas in 2018 to attend Concordia University Texas. After earning my undergraduate degree in psychology and religious education, I joined the AFC team, where I currently serve as Director of Client Care. While working at AFC, I went on to complete my master’s degree in professional counseling at Texas State University.
Outside of the therapy room, I love being in the sunshine, especially going camping and hiking! I’m a total sci-fi book nerd and feel the most at peace curled up reading next to my three Golden Retrievers: Merry, Pippin & Sam. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, friends, and family, binge-watching my current favorite TV series, and working on hand embroidery projects. I look forward to meeting you!
