Jennifer Sacco, LCSW
My life’s motto is to have courage and be kind, so becoming a therapist was a natural next step in fulfilling my life’s purpose. If you are choosing to enter counseling, then please be proud of yourself for your courage! Therapy is a gift that I am so grateful to provide and hope to give to you when you are ready. I believe that counseling is a team effort, and therefore am ready to begin our collaborative relationship. Take note that in my office, whether in-person or virtually, you will be treated with the utmost kindness and respect as you share your story. I am excited to work with individuals, children, and families that are looking for more support in their lives.
I received my bachelor’s and master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina with a focus in Health and Mental Health. After moving to Texas in 2019, I worked at Vivent Health (formerly AIDS Services of Austin) providing support to folks living with HIV. Most recently, I was a therapist at Hill Country Counseling giving individual and group therapy to adults with chronic and severe mental illness. With each passing year I spend practicing social work, I have fallen more in love with helping people and grown more dedicated to spreading acceptance in the world. I love my clients and love that I receive the privilege to be a part of their lives.
My counseling approach combines methods of Positive Psychology, Strengths-based ideology, and focuses on empowering clients to believe in their best selves. I utilize CBT and DBT strategies and a non-judgmental validating approach, while also supporting positive changes. I will be your cheerleader or your neutral backboard to bounce ideas off of, whichever you feel is more relevant to your needs. Sessions with me are often down-to-earth with plenty of humor and joy as we navigate this crazy world together!
When I take a break from my aspirations of wanting to save the world with love and kindness, I can usually be found cuddling my large orange diva cat Daisy. I l hope to be an Austinite for life due to my obsession with live music, eating out, and sunshine. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and why I want to help you.
