Mama Be Wellness Retreat

Postponed to Spring 2019

As mothers of young children we often feel disconnected from others, unsure of who we are, anxious about how to parent the “right way” and are left depleted and exhausted. Unfortunately, our most valuable parenting tool -us!- is often so worn out that we can’t be available to our kids in the way they need.

Join us for a day retreat just for moms like YOU – moms who care for our families, care for our communities and often neglect to care for ourselves. Together we will create space to renew and restore.

We will also learn new and practical parenting tools to take home that you can start using right away to more effectively manage challenges in your home and your relationships.

We Created This Retreat to Give You

  • A supportive environment to receive care
  • A circle of compassionate mamas (no judging playground talk here)
  • Mindfulness and yoga practices you can take home to help you find calm in the storm
  • Help listening to your intuition
  • A deeper understanding of how learning to love yourself can help your children lead centered and happy lives
  • Experiences to relax you and let you slow down
  • An optional yoga practice to start the day
  • Delicious and nutritious lunch
  • Quiet time in the beautiful hill country
  • Nurturing self-care experiences that you can use at home
  • Safe, non-judgmental sharing in pairs and small groups

Retreat Facilitators

Sarah Griesemer is a mom of two and a psychologist who specializes in helping moms reclaim joy and balance. Having experienced post-partum depression first-hand, she has a strong understanding of how we as a culture need to find ways to support mothers, lower expectations and teach people how to prioritize their own joy. Sarah is a certified hatha teacher at the 200-hour level and has trained in mindfulness meditation. She brings humor, groundedness and open-heartedness to her work.

Lora Ferguson is the Founder and Co-Director of Austin Family Counseling and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has a special place in her heart for moms and caregivers and hopes to help them cultivate more respectful and loving relationships with themselves and others. With her background as a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer and Parent Educator, she facilitates parenting workshops for parents of children of all ages. Lora is also a mom to a 8-year old son and a 6-year old daughter, so she is actively learning new ways to balance life and work every day.
