Reaching out for counseling can be a difficult decision but is also a fulfilling step toward self-exploration and growth. Through open communication, we can foster a safe environment conducive to building strategies and tools that will empower you in your life. I wholly believe that the therapeutic process provides exceptional tools to help facilitate living life in a fulfilling and satisfying way. I am passionate and committed to helping my clients achieve their personal goals.
I have a solid foundation based in trauma-informed care, having worked with adults and children experiencing complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and handling difficult life transitions while pushing toward personal growth. It is important to know that I use a relational, person-centered approach that focuses on nurturing a safe and accepting environment for the counseling process. This is a nonjudgmental approach that recognizes all of the unique complexities that make you who you are. I also use systems theory to recognize the impact of societal ripples on our lives. Keeping with this, recognizing my own privilege and committing as a life-learner toward being culturally sensitive is something that is of tremendous importance to me.
I am experienced working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, include intersectionality in my practice, and am an LGBTQ ally. I have an MSSW from UT and am certified in Motivational Interviewing to help garner positive change in the individuals I work with. Finding the right therapist for you is vital. With this I hope that we can work together to identify and overcome obstacles and collaborate on the steps that you’d like to take next.
When not at work, I like being outdoors and listening to music. Recently, making a comfortable home, doting on my pet, and trying new pasta sauce recipes have been comforting through ever-changing current events.
