Morgan Rupe, LPC-Intern
Under the Supervision of Kirby Schroeder, LPC-S, LMFT-S

I believe we all have unique strengths that can help us navigate life’s challenges. Seeking out support through counseling is one way to re-discover and cultivate those strengths. I am lucky enough to work with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families to assist them through life’s ups and downs. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and utilize a multicultural approach when working with clients. I welcome you to come as you are— I will meet you wherever you’re at.

I earned a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern under the supervision of Kirby Schroeder, LPC-S, LMFT-S. Additionally, I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. Most recently, my therapy dog Rio and I have graduated from the Animal-Assisted Counseling Academy at Texas State University. Rio and I form a Canine Counseling Intern Team supervised by Elizabeth Hartwig, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT, RPT-S. Click here to learn more about this program and our certification.

Animal-assisted counseling (AAC) is a goal-directed process in which a trained therapy animal works in partnership with a counselor to help clients resolve psychosocial challenges and achieve growth. AAC often involves using experiential and expressive interventions that include the therapy animal. Rio and I work together as a team to help clients of all ages grow and achieve their goals. You can read some FAQs about AAC by clicking here.

Because Rio needs some vacation time, I cannot guarantee that he will be at every session. Additionally, if animal-assisted counseling is not a good fit for you, I am happy to work with your child solo!
