Meagan Acosta, LMSW Supervised by Earley Barnes-Ullrich, LCSW-S

Hi there! You’re incredibly brave for seeking out counseling and I’m so glad you’re here. As a counselor, I’m here to create a compassionate and empowering space for you to explore, heal, and pursue the life you want to live. I believe that therapy is a special time for individuals to explore their sense of self, work through trauma, and learn more about their thoughts and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental space.

I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of North Texas and received my Master’s in Science of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I have over eight years of experience working for non-profits in school, home, shelter, and clinical environments. I’m committed to helping children and adults who need help finding their own voice. My areas of expertise include body image, shame resilience, self-compassion, trauma, and emotion regulation. Theories I use are Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Play Therapy, Attachment Theory, Health At Every Size, and Body Trust. I would say that my overall approach is validating, warm, authentic, and fun!

When I’m not with clients, I enjoy reading, listening to music, playing with my cats, and being outside when it’s not over 100 degrees!

I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you through your journey!
