Jennifer Hur, M. Ed., LPC-A, Supervised by Jenny Brockway, MS, PSC, LPC-S

Hello! I am so happy you’re here. I know therapy can be scary, so I want to walk alongside you so that you feel comfortable every step of the way. I believe all humans have the capacity to grow in understanding of themselves. As a counselor, it is my goal to help clients to understand their thoughts, behaviors, and responses towards themselves and others. I use a client centered approach to help clients see the good in themselves. I am fully committed to serving clients in their personal growth, and guiding them from any gender, race, age, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical/mental ability. I truly believe healing begins with knowing one’s identity and self-worth.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications with a minor in Business Foundations from the University of Texas at Austin. After working in the advertising field for a bit, I decided to pursue a career in counseling. I received my Masters in Education with an emphasis on School Counseling and Licensed Professional Counselor track at the University of Texas at Austin. I have over 3 years working in school districts as a case manager and school counselor, and over 10 years of working with adolescents in community volunteer settings.

My passion is working with adolescents and young adults who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, trauma, stress, and relationship problems – to name a few. Since I spent most of my counseling career with adolescents, I am extremely passionate about working with this age group because I believe there is so much to learn and experience during that season of life. Furthermore, working as a school counselor gave me the opportunity to work with every single student who walked into my office. I had the wonderful privilege of serving adolescents from all different backgrounds and experiences.

When I’m not in the counseling room, you’ll find me at a pilates or barre class, drinking coffee at a local cafe, taking walks during sunset, or spending time with my loved ones!

I’m looking forward to connecting with you! Please reach out via email, text, or phone call.
