Jennifer Hur, M. Ed., LPC-A, Supervised by Jenny Brockway, MS, PSC, LPC-S

Hello! I am so happy you’re here.

I believe all humans have the capacity to grow in understanding of themselves. As a counselor, it is my goal to help clients to understand their thoughts, behaviors, and responses towards themselves and others. I use a client centered approach to help clients see the good in themselves. I am fully committed to serving clients in their personal growth, and guiding them from any gender, race, age, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical/mental ability. I truly believe healing begins with knowing one’s identity and self-worth.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications with a minor in Business Foundations from the University of Texas at Austin. After working in the advertising field for a bit, I decided to pursue a career in counseling. I received my Masters in Education with an emphasis on School Counseling and Licensed Professional Counselor track at the University of Texas at Austin. I have over 3 years working in school districts as a case manager and school counselor, and over 10 years of working with children and adolescents in community volunteer settings.

My passion is working with pre-teens, adolescents, young adults, adults and families who may be dealing with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, trauma, stress, relationship problems, and communication problems – to name a few. Since I spent most of my counseling career with adolescents, I am extremely passionate about working with this age group because I believe there is so much to learn and experience during that season of life. Furthermore, working as a school counselor gave me the opportunity to work with every single student who walked into my office. I had the wonderful privilege of serving children from all different backgrounds and experiences.

When I’m not in the counseling room, you’ll find me at a Pilates or barre class, drinking coffee at a local café, taking walks during sunset, or spending time with my loved ones!

I’m looking forward to connecting with you!
