Alex Lazar, M.Ed., LPC-Associate, Supervised by Karen Burke LPC-S

Welcome, I commend you on being here. My goal is to make you feel safe, cared for and accepted, no matter what has happened, is happening or could happen in your life. You can expect me to treat the therapeutic relationship we build as sacred, focusing on a collaborative, relational, person-centered, and strengths-based approach. I want to hear what you need, what you are looking for and how you process the world around you before diving into a specific modality. I want to specialize the process to your needs with evidence based practices. I want you to feel the precious time we spent together is valuable.

I received my undergraduate degree from Linfield College in 2014 and completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adam’s State University. I have worked in several areas of the mental health field over the past 7 years: residential, school-based services, wilderness therapy, family therapy, and non-profit individual therapy during my graduate program at Capital Area Counseling in Austin.

I am passionate about working with children, teenagers, parents, adults and families experiencing challenges faced in all walks of life from depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, trauma related, and relationship repair.

When I am not with clients, I enjoy cooking, playing sports, taking my dog on walks/hikes and spending time with my brother.
