Kirby headshotKirby Sandlin Schroeder, LPC-S, LMFT-S – Clinical Coordinator & Play Therapist

In my professional work with children and family, I have found that children and parents love to have a space to be heard and express what is truly going on for them. My goal is to create this space. I believe that children are able to express what is happening for them; it is often in a language that adults can learn to hear and understand. I work using a collaborative method including the child(ren), parents, teachers, etc. When working with children, I often use play therapy and sandtray. Additionally, when supporting parents, I often use Positive Discipline philosophies.

I studied business and psychology in undergrad at Louisiana State University and went on to receive my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edwards University in Austin to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have worked exclusively with children and families for over eight years. My experience includes working in school environments, in-homes, and in agencies counseling individuals, groups, parents, and families. I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parenting Educator. Additionally, I am a LPC-Supervisor and a LMFT-Supervisor for provisionally licensed therapists.
